A Plateau-based group, ‘Re-Elect Mutfwang Again’ (REMA), has endorsed the re-election of Governor Caleb Mutfwang for second term in 2027.
They said their former principal and former governorship aspirant under the PDP, Brig-Gen John Sura (rtd) had betrayed those who trusted and supported his political ambition in 2022, saying he turned his back on the governor and the PDP.
Brig-Gen Sura participated in the PDP governorship’s primaries election conducted in 2022.
It was recently reported that left the party and pitched tent with the APC without consulting his former supporters and followers in the “Liberation Movement” which cut across the 17 LGAs in the state.
The leader of the group David Nanshak and former coordinators, appointees of Gen John Sura campaigns organisation while addressing former supporters at the Teachers House in Mangu LGA of the state all declared support for Governor Mutfwang.
At the meeting Hon. Maurice Dadik from Qua’an- Pan LGA moved the motion for the support to re-elect Mutfwang, which was seconded by Pwajok Sunday from Jos South LGA. The meeting overwhelmingly supported the motion.
Nanshak disclosed that cross carpeting though appears normal in politics, in the case of Gen Sura, he has no tangible excuse to give for his action, adding that this explains why all his former political allies and supporters had refused to follow him but remain resolute in supporting Governor Mutfwang and the PDP.
