Abductors of a commissioner in the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC) Barrister Ahmed Mohammed, a former chairman of the state Universal Basic Education (NSUBEB) Alhaji Bawa Niworo and 45 others are demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

They were abducted near Ibbi -Nassarawa along New Bussa, Borgu on September 29.

It was learnt the abductors had contacted family members, demanding N300 million on each of the abductees before it was negotiated down to N100million.

While security sources hinted that they were closing in on the abductors, it was learnt that they are still within Niger State.

The security sources said they are not involved in any negotiation and that family members were advised against negotiating with any bandit.
