The federal government has restated its commitment to supporting and delivering quality education.
The Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, who stated this, also said that the government is determined to transform the nation’s education sector with quality leadership.

He spoke in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, during the grand finale of the 17th Founder’s Day and 13th Unbroken Convocation Ceremonies of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) for the 2024/2025 graduating students.

Alausa said, “As a ministry, we remain committed to policies and initiatives supporting quality, inclusive and sustainable education at all levels. Institutions like ABUAD remind us that with the right leadership and values, we can truly transform education in Nigeria”.

The minister who described ABUAD as the beacon of hope and model for Private University education in Nigeria and Africa at large, noted that Afe Babalola’s commitment to creating a world-class institution in Nigeria is worth celebrating, with the establishment of the institution founded on integrity, discipline, innovation and service.

Prof. Olukayode Adebowale, who represented the university, explained that the University’s consistent record of unbroken academic sessions, quality teaching, and global partnerships reflects a disciplined system that aligns with the national vision for a revitalised education sector.

Alausa noted that the Institution’s rise to global recognition is highly commendable, especially with the remarkable milestone achieved in 16 years through academic excellence, infrastructure development, research and community service.

He said, “Allow me to first commend the visionary founder, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), for his unwavering dedication to excellence in education and nation-building.
