Police Present N40.3m To Families Of Deceased Officers In Taraba

The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has presented a cheque of N40.389 million as welfare package to families of officers who died in active service.

The state commissioner of police, CP Betty Otimenyin, presented the cheque to the deceased families, saying that, the gesture reflected the unwavering commitment of the Force, under the leadership of the inspector-general of police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to the welfare of its personnel and their dependents.

acting command’s spokesperson in Jalingo, the state capital.

He quoted the CP as describing the fallen officers as “brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard life and property.”

Mshelizah said the Force remains resolute in its efforts to implement welfare programmes, which prioritise the well-being of officers and their families.

The statement read in part: “These officers gave everything for peace and order.

We owe it to them and their families to stand by them. I urge the beneficiaries to utilise the funds for productivity and improving their lives.”

 

The commissioner appealed to members of the public to continue to support security operatives as they work tirelessly to ensure law and order across the state.
