Report Strangers In Anambra To Police, Soludo Tells Citizens

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has directed indigenes of the state to promptly report any stranger who arrives the state to security agencies for thorough investigation.

 

He gave the directive while commending the state’s Joint Security Task-force for demolishing a bungalow in Oba, Idemili-South local government area of the state suspected to be used by kidnappers for their criminal activities.

Soludo stated that the action would send a warning signal to those who might in future provide their buildings for criminal activities that they stand the risk of losing such property.

He tasked the people to be security conscious at all times, and always report strangers and criminals operating in their communities to security agencies.
The demolished bungalow was used by members of a kidnap gang who abducted four persons recently. The police freed them after engaging the hoodlums in a shoot-out, killing one of the gang members.

A team of police operatives from the state command had been deployed by the commissioner of police, Echeng Echeng following a tip-off on the kidnap of two persons at Oko in Orumba-North local government area of the state, and while the police team was on the trail of the hoodlums, they again kidnapped two other persons at nearby Ekwulobia in Aguata local government area.
The police team according to the spokesman of the command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu in the course of the operation arrested one member of the gang identified as Emeka who took them to their hideout at Oba.
