The planned defection of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been described as one of the right decisions ever taken, that is geared toward salvaging the people of Taraba State from the bondage of underdevelopment.

Hon. Fidelis Francis, the APC secretary in the state, who stated this in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Jalingo, said those opposing the defection of Governor Kefas to APC does not mean well for the people of the state.

“Moving to APC is no doubt a plus for the party and for the people of Taraba State, because he is coming to the party that is connected to the center, where he will have enough resources to work for the people of the Taraba State.”

He noted how some bigwigs of the party from the state are strongly opposing the defection of Governor Kefas to APC, as such could affect their political interest.

He added that, as a party, they will not give room to any politicians who want to use its platform for his or her personal business.

” Some of them, it is not the Taraba State that is in their mind, is their personal ambition, their personal business and seeing Governor Kefas moving to APC, they are already confused,” Francis said.

He said, the doors of the party is wide open to any person willing to join, “and we are ready to receive him to the party and together with the party we will see how to move the state forward.”

“Who know if it is the crisis or laxity of the PDP that might have caused all the underdevelopment in Taraba State,” he emphasised.

According to APC secretary, “political party is not a religion. You can decide to leave party ‘A’ to ‘B’, maybe party ‘B’ back to party ‘A’, base on the situation at hand. And people that are blaming His Excellency for moving down to APC are not right thinking people, does not mean well for the state.

“Reason being that, there is no PDP in this country again. The PDP we are talking about is no longer in existence. Why do you want to stay in a house that is under fire. How will he survive?

“You cannot tell me, you will see fire on top of your roof, then you will pretend to be sleeping as if nothing is happening. It is not true.

“I think, His Excellency has made the right decision to rescue the people and the state from the bondage of underdevelopment.”
