Policemen Rescue 6 Kidnapped Victims In Kebbi

A combined team of policemen attached to the Divisional Police Office in Danko/Wasagu local government area in Kebbi State had a gun battle with a gang of unidentified armed bandits with sophisticated weapons numbering about 12 that invaded three villages; Ukuhu, Tungar Wazga and Unguwar Chiroma in the area and rescued six out of 10 kidnapped people.

Spokesman of the Kebbi Police Command, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.

Abubakar added that after the bandits attacked the three villages and kidnapped 10 people, the combined team of policemen blocked them at Marina village bordering Zamfara State and engaged them in a gun battle and they later fled and abandoned six kidnapped victims.

He announced the rescued victims as; Abubakar B Abubakar 25, Nasiru Magawata 18, Abdul Magawata 15, Buhari Ukuhu 17,Kamalu Magawata 12 and Naziru Magawata 11.

According to him, efforts have continued to rescue the remaining four kidnapped victims and apprehend the fleeing bandits.
