The appointment, which is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula, explained that the appointment followed the recommendation of the Governing Council of the University, which nominated Prof. Kenen to serve in an acting capacity for a period of not more than six (6) months.

“Governor Alia who is the Visitor to FAUM made the appointment in accordance with the provisions of the law establishing the University as contained in Gazette No. 3, Vol. 45, Part III, 161 & 12),” the statement said.

He emphasised that the institution must remain a centre of knowledge and character formation, producing graduates who will contribute meaningfully to the development of Benue State and the nation at large.
