Anambra Guber Poll: EFCC Arrests APGA Agent, 2 Others Over Vote Buying

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested an agent of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and two others for engaging in vote buying during the Anambra State governorship election on Saturday.

The suspects, arrested in various parts of the State, included Emeka Ilokasia arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka local government area; Nwachuwu Loretta, arrested at Ward 2(008), Awkuzu, Oyi local government area and Emuka Chuwudi, arrested at Umunachi village, Dukonukofia local government.

According to a terse statement posted on EFCC’s official Facebook page on Saturday evening, they will be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

LEADERSHIP earlier reported that major contenders in the governorship election alleged massive vote-buying in the exercise.

While the exercise has ended across the State, results from all the local government areas were being collated following the substantial upload of results from every unit on the INEC’s IRev portal.
