Candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in last Saturday’s Anambra State governorship election, Ozo Jeff Nweke, has advised the winner of the election and incumbent state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to prioritise employment creation in his second term.
Nweke, who congratulated the governor for emerging victorious in the poll, urged his other co-contestants not to distract the governance system in the state by going to the tribunal to challenge the outcome.
He, rather, advised his colleagues to join hands with the Soludo administration to move the state forward.
Nweke, who addressed newsmen on the outcome of the governorship election yesterday, said “Anambra people have spoken; they have voted and since they have voted, I abide by their decision”.
“One has to commend the INEC in the manner they conducted the election. It was conducted free and fair.
“I have sent a congratulatory message to the governor.
“Contrary to what they are saying there was vote-buying, I did not see any vote-buying in my polling unit.
“But I heard that there was vote-buying in some polling units. But the most important thing is that there was no intimidation or molestation of anyone. Anambra people have shown that democracy has grown in the state”, Nweke stated further.
The AA guber candidate, however, expressed regret over the report about a councillor who was killed in a polling unit in Owerre -Ezukala , Orumba-South local government area where he (the victim) had gone to cast his vote on the election day.
He urged security agencies to leave no stone unturned in tracking down the perpetrators of the heinous crime, and make sure that they face the full weight of the law.
