The deputy national organising secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Saleh, has declared that the people of Zamfara State are ready to embrace a new political direction, rallying support for the ADC as the only viable platform to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges.
Speaking at a well attended party gathering held in Zamfara State over the weekend, Saleh who also holds the traditional title of Baraden Maru praised the growing enthusiasm among Zamfara residents and party faithfuls, noting that the ADC is gaining momentum as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other mainstream parties.
“I can assure you that the people of Zamfara State are ready to embrace change through ADC,” Saleh said. “They have seen the failures of the past and are now looking toward a future that works for all.”
Saleh expressed deep appreciation for the presence of former Kaduna State Governor and ADC national leader, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, who attended the event alongside other key stakeholders despite a tight schedule.
“Your Excellency, we appreciate your presence today and your entourage. You are a father to all, and by coming to Zamfara State, you have demonstrated that with unity and commitment, we shall all succeed in building the Nigeria that works for all,” he said.
He emphasised that El-Rufai’s attendance was a strong endorsement of the ADC’s mission and a signal to party members that the time for serious political engagement has come.
Saleh urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts, encouraging eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He assured that the ADC would provide a level playing field for all aspirants, regardless of background or status.
“We will continue to strategize and mobilize more support in the coming weeks and months. The ADC is the only platform that can rescue Nigeria,” he added.
In his remarks, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai did not mince words in his critique of the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as the most disappointing in Nigeria’s post-independence history.
“Since the nation got independence in 1960, we have never witnessed a government that has failed Nigerians as much as that of President Bola Tinubu,” El-Rufai stated.
He praised Atiku Saleh for organising the event on short notice, calling him a dependable and visionary leader within the ADC.
“I’m particularly impressed with the commitment and love Alhaji Atiku Saleh has shown for the ADC. As a key stakeholder in this party, we know that he can deliver,” El-Rufai said.
He concluded by urging all ADC supporters in Zamfara to remain united and committed to the party’s vision, emphasising that the power to bring about meaningful change lies in the hands of the people.
“Let us continue to support ADC. And whenever Atiku Saleh calls on you, please show up and give your full support,” he urged.
The meeting drew stakeholders of the party across the northwest region.
