The Kogi State Government has assured President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Nigerians that the newly appointed National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Prof. Joash  Amupitan and Lituenant General Waidi Shaibu as Chief Of Army staff, (COAS) will discharge their responsibilities with utmost integrity and honesty.

The Kogi commissioner of finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, who stated this in a statement in Lokoja on Monday said the recent appointment of Amupitan as Chairman INEC and Lt. General Shaibu as COAS by President Tinubu was a clear affirmation of the president’s confidence in the capabilities of Kogi State indigenes.

He expressed optimism that the individuals of Kogi origin, giving their track records of distinctive service in the past, would not betray the confidence reposed in them by the president and the expectations of Nigerians to deliver creditably well in their assignment.

Ashiru noted that the appointment of the two sons of Kogi State, was received with great joy and appreciation across the state, adding that the appointments were testaments of the president’s visionary leadership, detrabilised disposition and his dedication to harnessing the potential of all Nigerians for National development.

The commissioner expressed confidence that the appointed individuals would serve the nation with utmost dedication, integrity and diligence, thereby justifying the trust president Tinubu had reposed in them and making Kogi State proud.
