The Nigerian Institution of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects (NIMENA) has announced its 14th Annual Conference, DigiMarTSS 2025, themed “Digital Maritime Transformation and Smart Solutions: A Pathway to the Advancement of Nigeria’s Blue Economy.” The event will take place on Friday, 28th November 2025, at Osborn La Palm Resort, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with provisions for virtual participation via Zoom.

The conference is set to be a defining moment for Nigeria’s maritime industry as professionals, engineers, naval architects, technologists, and policymakers converge to explore digital innovation as a catalyst for growth in the blue economy. Participants will gain practical insights on the integration of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data in predictive maintenance, smart port development, and autonomous vessel operations.

In line with its academic and technical objectives, NIMENA has also announced a call for papers, inviting scholars and industry practitioners to submit original works related to digital and smart maritime solutions. The deadline for abstract submission is November 15, 2025, while full papers and presentation videos are due by November 21, 2025. Submissions are to be sent via email.

Registration for the conference is open to all interested.

According to the MNIMENA Chairman, 2025 Conference Planning Committee, Engr. Chief Andrew Aligbe, the event promises to be a landmark opportunity for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and the shaping of strategies that will redefine Nigeria’s maritime operations.
