Matawalle made the call during a courtesy visit to the Theatre Command Headquarters Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA over the weekend, where he was received by the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris.

“I want to commend you for your dedication, courage, and sacrifice in the fight against criminal elements across the theatre. I encourage you to remain resilient, vigilant, and focused as efforts intensify to restore lasting peace and stability in the region,” Matawalle said.

“The federal government is committed to supporting you in this fight against insecurity. We will provide you with the necessary resources, logistics, and improved welfare needed to sustain your efforts,” Matawalle assured.

Major General Idris expressed appreciation to the minister for the visit, describing it as a gesture that reaffirms the federal government’s unwavering commitment to supporting ongoing operations in the North West.

“The visit is a boost to our morale and a demonstration of the government’s commitment to our efforts. We are grateful for the Minister’s support and encouragement,” Idris said.

The visit included a briefing by the Theatre Commander on ongoing activities of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and an address to troops, during which the Minister expressed deep appreciation for their professionalism and committed service to the nation.

Souvenirs were also presented to the minister during the visit, which was part of his tour of security installations in the North West region.
