The Abuja Chaingang Mountain Bike Festival 2025 is set to host the 4th edition of its annual Mountain Biking (MTB) Festival on November 22, 2025.
This was announced in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, by the Organising Committee. Spokesman for the committee, Chidera Obijiofor, noted that the festival “promises to be an exhilarating celebration of outdoor sports, community, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Mpape Resettlement area in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
According to the statement, this landmark historical festival offers a unique blend of mountain biking, running, hiking, and power biking, creating memorable experiences for all participants.
Obijiofor said, “We have mapped every route with safety-first signage, medical support points, and marshals stationed at all technical sections.
“Beyond competition, the festival will be a vibrant outdoor carnival featuring cultural dances, live music, refreshments, and displays by local vendors and community groups.”
The Chaingang MTB Festival returns for its 4th edition — Be Ya Nu Abuja Pe (Let’s Go To Abuja Mountains) — on Saturday, 22 November 2025.
According to him, this year’s festival will take riders, runners, and hikers into the heart of Abuja’s rugged, breathtaking hills for a full day of competition, culture, and community.
He stressed that the Chaingang MTB Festival was committed to promoting active outdoor lifestyles, trail stewardship, and road safety awareness for cyclists and trail users.
The organisers appreciated the support of partners, volunteers, and sponsors whose contributions enabled route upgrades, signage, and medical coverage.
According to the organisers, sponsors will be recognised across event signage, maps, and communications as part of the shared commitment to safe, sustainable outdoor sports.
The statement noted that mountain bikers would navigate a challenging and scenic 30-kilometre trail featuring hilly terrain, technical sections, and smooth segments that test both skill and endurance.
“This year, we aim to create a platform that not only challenges participants but also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among all who attend,” the statement said.
