Man Jailed 1 Year For Stealing 1 Measure Of Beans In Adamawa

A 31-year-old Iliya Abdullahi of Shelleng LGA of Adamawa State has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for theft.

Iliya was earlier convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Shelleng Area Court 2 for the offence contrary to section 277 of the penal code law.

He was sent to prison on the 15th November, 2025 after he was convicted for carting away one measure of beans.

The convict had his sentence reviewed when he appeared before Adamawa Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge, Adamawa State, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.

Justice Hafsat reviewed the sentence of the convict from two years to one year when her committee stormed Shelleng Satellite Custodial Centre on Wednesday.

She advised him to be of good  behaviour and contribute positively towards the development of the society.
