Yobe Govt Commences Training For Protocol Officials

Yobe State government has commenced a two-day training workshop on Strategic Leadership in Protocol, Diplomacy, Government and VIP Management to strengthen professionalism and efficiency within the state’s protocol sector.

The programme, which is holding in Kano, is part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s drive to build a dynamic, highly skilled and globally competitive public service.

Speaking on behalf of the head of service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, the permanent secretary, Manpower Development, Abbas Isah Bizi, reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to capacity building and continuous professional development of civil servants.

He commended Governor Buni for his “visionary leadership and unprecedented investment in staff development,” especially through the recruitment and continuous training of additional protocol officers to meet modern governance demands.

He said that protocol officers play a strategic role in managing high-level engagements and in projecting the image of Yobe State both nationally and internationally.

Bizi called on the participants to maximize the opportunity to sharpen their skills in diplomacy, cultural sensitivity, communication, and strategic leadership.

In his remarks, Amb. Buhari Yarima Baffa of the International Centre for Protocol & Diplomacy, disclosed the importance of enhancing professional competence in protocol management, leadership, and good governance in today’s fast-evolving governance environment.

LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that, the workshop featured seasoned resource persons from the Institute of Corporate and Public Diplomacy (ICPD), who provided participants with practical insights and global best practices in protocol and diplomacy.
