The Mobile Policemen of No 36 PMF Squadron, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State have foiled the rustling of 96 cows from armed bandits who invaded Zodi village in Zuru local government area of the state and rustled unspecified number of livestock.
Spokesman of Kebbi State Police Command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar disclosed this in a statement he issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
He said when the report of the bandits attack in the area reached the Command, CP Bello Sani immediately dispatched PMF personnel to the village in Zuru and during exchange of fire with the bandits many bandits were neutralized while others fled into the forest with gunshot wounds.
The statement further revealed that the mobile policemen confiscated 96 cows, 45 sheeps and two motorcycles which were handed over to the Village Head of Zodi for safe return to rightful owners while the two motorcycles were handled over to Zuru Divisional Police office while investigation continues.
The commissioner of police commended the efforts of the brave mobile policemen for ensuring the safety of the people in the area and Kebbi State.
He assured his command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring Kebbi is free from banditry.
