Bauchi Govt Disowns Employment Scam Syndicate

The Bauchi State Government has sounded the alarm over a criminal syndicate fleecing unsuspecting job seekers by promising them employment slots in the state’s public service.

The Head of Service, Barr. Muhammad Sani disclosed this in a statement signed by Mohammed Bello and made available to journalists in Bauchi over the weekend. He condemned the activities of “unscrupulous elements” extorting money from desperate applicants under the guise of securing them government jobs.

He explained that the state government had earlier launched an official online recruitment portal to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all applicants.

The Head of Service said successful candidates from the portal-based application exercise will be contacted “soon” through the proper channels as the recruitment process concludes.

He urged members of the public to disregard any messages, demands for payment, or lobbying attempts claiming to fast-track employment into the state civil service, stressing that such solicitations are fraudulent and unauthorized.

The Head of Service further advised anyone with credible information about the scammers or their operations to immediately report to the nearest security agency for prompt action.
