National Chairman of the Accord Party, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, has declared the party’s commitment to secure a landslide re-election for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.

Mgbudem stated this on Tuesday while addressing top party stalwarts, state executives, and national leaders, who were present at the unveiling of Governor Adeleke as the party’s governorship candidate at Osun State Government House, Osogbo.

A release made available by the spokesperson to the governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, stated that Accord Party received Governor Adeleke with profound admiration for his tenure in office.

“Today, we are not just unveiling a candidate; we are embracing a proven performer,” he stated.

“We have keenly followed and commended the Governor for the exceptional work he has been doing since he assumed office. His transformative impact cuts across all sectors from infrastructure and education to healthcare, workers’ welfare, and rural development. This is the brand of holistic, people-focused governance that the Accord Party stands for.”

He described the governor’s defection as a monumental alignment of vision and validated performance.

“Accord is immensely proud to formally unveil His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke and his team, as partners in the new political direction we are charting for Nigeria. This is a bold statement. It is a convergence of a party built on ideals and a leader who embodies competence, accessibility, and genuine service.”

The National Chairman elaborated on the synergy between the Governor’s achievements and the party’s core philosophy.

“Our collaboration is built on shared, non-negotiable values: transparency, unity, and purposeful governance”, the National Chairman noted.

He stressed that Governor Adeleke’s record in Osun is a living testament to Accord’s creed, which prioritises nation-building, solutions over sentiments, and tangible results over empty rhetoric.

Speaking on the upcoming election, Barr. Mgbudem declared, “Therefore, let our position be clear to all: The Accord Party is not merely a platform; we are a formidable machinery for victory. The people of Osun have witnessed and felt the positive changes.

“In 2026, they will reaffirm their mandate through the ballot. With our revitalised national structure and collective resolve, the Accord Party will deliver His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for a second term to consolidate and expand the transformative work already in motion.”

He stated that the event marked a significant expansion of the party’s national influence as he invited stakeholders and every Nigerian who desire credible alternative to join what he called the growing movement anchored on character, competence, and clarity.
