The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jama’are ‘A’ Ward, Jama’are local government area of Bauchi State, has expelled the factional state caretaker committee chairman, Haruna Mohammed Jungudu, over alleged misconduct, disloyalty and anti-party activities.
The decision was contained in a communiqué signed by the ward chairman, Garba Beguwa, following a meeting of party leaders in Jama’are held on 8th December, 2025.
Beguwa accused Jungudu of consistently refusing to attend party meetings and activities, issuing verbal attacks on party leaders and members, and making “disrespectful comments” that undermine the PDP’s unity in the area.
He alos alleged that Jungudu attempted to assume the leadership of the PDP at the state level “through illegal means” without regard for the recognised party structure.
“These actions constitute gross misconduct, disloyalty and anti-party behaviour which violate the constitution and ethics of the PDP,” the communiqué stated. The ward executives said the expulsion takes effect from December 8.
However, the Bauchi State PDP Caretaker Committee has dismissed the action, describing it as illegitimate.
Reacting, the committee’s secretary, Alhaji Safiyanu Zubairu, said he would not “dignify” the ward leaders with a formal response, insisting that Jungudu remains the authentic state caretaker chairman appointed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) under FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Zubairu faulted the Jama’are ward executives, alleging they lacked the authority to expel a state-level official.
“Why should we respond to this group of ‘food-is-ready politicians’?” he said. “Assuming they even have legitimacy, ask them if they complied with Chapter 10 Article 57 of the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended.”
He further questioned the validity of the ward, local government, and state executives themselves, alleging they violated Article 48(1) of the party constitution at the time of their election.
According to him, all decisions taken by the dissolved Bauchi PDP exco “from the period of their election to the point of their dissolution by NEC are complete nullity.”
Zubairu urged party members to remain calm, adding that Jungudu and members of the caretaker committee would soon brief the public on developments within the party.
