Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has solicited the support of traditional rulers for military operations in the nation’s peace and security architecture.

Shaibu, made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu I and the Council of Obas in Lagos.

The COAS, who noted that Nigeria’s customs and traditions remained sacrosanct and must be honoured, said his visit was to express his profound appreciation for their consistent support to the Nigerian Army.

“The purpose of my visit is not only to extend my gratitude but also to seek the blessings of the royal father for successful military operations.

“I appreciate Oba Akiolu for the fatherly role he has continually played in supporting Army formations and institutions across Lagos State.
