The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has kicked off processes to broaden and consolidate its structures at national and subnational levels next year.
This comes as the opposition coalition party prepares for its first non-elective convention on February 12, 2026.
The party will begin the pre-convention activities from January 20 next year with polling units, ward, local government and state congresses.
This is contained in a circular signed by the national secretary of the party, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and obtained by our correspondent in Abuja yesterday.
The circular dated December 2, 2025 is addressed to all national deputy chairmen, all national vice chairmen, all members of NEC/NWC, the chief of staff to the national chairman, the chief of staff to the national secretary.
It reads: “In accordance with the resolution of the party held on 27th November 2025 and in line with the relevant provisions of the ADC Constitution, the approval to conduct congresses, election of delegates and non-elective convention is hereby communicated as detailed hereunder.
“Congresses for state, local government, wards and polling units shall hold as follows: Polling Unit: Tuesday, January 20, 2026; Ward: Thursday, January 22, 2026; Local Govt: Saturday, January 24, 2026; State: Tuesday, January 27, 2026.”
The party enjoined all members to “work together to ensure transparent and orderly congresses and election of delegates for the purposes of ensuring a successful non-elective convention.”
