Victory is not an accidental phenomenon, but an achievement that comes to fruition through consistent hard work and prayer, according to an Abuja-based pastor, Ademola Adebisi.
Ademola stated this in Abuja at the release of his new book, “Journey to Victory Land”, a faith-based work that uses automotive imagery to present a compelling allegory of the Christian journey toward spiritual maturity and lasting victory.
The book offers readers a reflective exploration of vision, spiritual capacity, strength and anointing, angelic escort, character, covenant relationships, perseverance, discernment, frequency management, voice, righteousness, and the “hidden manna,” all presented through the lens of pastoral insight and practical storytelling.
According to Adebisi, the inspiration for “Journey to Victory Land” emerged from a prayer assignment he received on January 1, 2025. Following his induction and industrial attachment as a pastor, he was asked by his reverend to lead a 45-minute prayer session on the church’s theme for 2025, “Resounding Victories.”
“What began as a prayer assignment became a nudge to turn that spiritual exercise into a book,” Adebisi explained. “The idea was to examine the believer’s journey from daily victories to greater victories, anchored in the truth of 1 Corinthians 15:57, which reminds us that we already have victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Using the metaphor of driving, Adebisi likens spiritual growth to the responsibility that comes with being trusted to drive a car.
“Just as it takes years before one is licensed to drive, arriving at ‘Victory Land’ is not accidental,” he said. “It is the result of graduated, licensed, spirit-level maturity.”
Structured as a driver’s manual translated into vivid pictures, the 13-chapter book is divided into six sections designed to be accessible even to young readers. “I wanted it to be so clear that a child could read it and say, ‘That is my future,’” Adebisi noted.
The first section introduces key foundations such as the windscreen (vision), engine service (spiritual capacity), and fuel (strength and anointing). The second section explores security escort (angelic escort), electrical systems (character), and safety devices (covenant relationships). Subsequent sections address navigating terrain (perseverance), mirrors (discernment), and the audio-visual system (frequency management).
In the final chapters, Adebisi focuses on making one’s mark and sustaining the journey, drawing lessons from vehicle lights (visibility), horn (voice), documents (righteousness), and the dashboard diet, which he likens to the hidden manna.
In his conclusion, Adebisi summarises the journey to “Victory Land” as one that requires intentional preparation and discipline, culminating in a spiritual “arrival” where the mileage reads “It is finished.” The GPS declares, “You have arrived at your destination—welcome to Victory Land.”
Adebisi believes readers will gain practical lessons on resilience, hope, and transformation. “The book reminds us that determination often begins with inspiration, which later impacts the world,” he said.
Encouraging aspiring writers, he urged them to begin their own journeys without fear. “The crown is not ahead of you; it is above you, hovering, waiting for the final click of faith that pulls it down onto your head,” he said. “Your name is already engraved on the pillar.”
