The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) has warned the public against the increase in fraudulent activities involving individuals impersonating the hospital officials and collecting money from unsuspecting job seekers for placement in the organisation.
Its head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Hospital, Usman Koli, in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi yesterday, said the scammers are reportedly targeting job seekers and current temporary staff with false promises of employment and permanent appointments.
According to him, the fraudsters have been extorting money and soliciting gifts from unsuspecting victims.
He clarified that these criminal elements operate both within and outside the hospital premises, under the guise of “facilitating appointments” to exploit job seekers.
The hospital leadership emphasized that all recruitment processes at ATBUTH are governed by strict administrative protocols, adding that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding bribery, asserting that no staff member or third party is authorised to demand or collect any form of inducement, financial or otherwise, for job placements.
He reaffirms the commitment to integrity of ATBUTH, assuring the public that its operations remain rooted in accountability and transparency.
