Gunmen suspected to be bandits, on Friday afternoon, attacked Olle community in Kabba/Bunu local government area of Kogi State, killing two persons and abducting unspecified number of persons.

An indigene of Kabba confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone conversation in confidence.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that the incident took place. It’s very unfortunate that this is happening in a once peaceful community. We are in danger,” he said.

The residents of the community were said to have been attacked on their way to their farms, killing not fewer than two people during the assault.

According to the source, the exact number of abducted persons was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Locals in the community, however, said that over 10 farmers must have been abducted by the assailants.

Recall that in July 2025, armed men, believed to be kidnappers, invaded Olle Bunu village, shooting sporadically and causing residents to flee into the bushes. Three people were reportedly abducted in the process. They were, however, rescued by security agents later.

The Kogi State Police Command and the State Government were yet to speak on the latest incident as the time of filing this report.
