The Bauchi State Government has appealed to residents to remain peaceful and cooperative before, during and after President Bola Tinubu’s condolence visit to the State over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Nigeria’s President is slated to visit Bauchi on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
In a statement issued by Governor Bala Mohammed’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, the State government urged citizens to work with security agencies deployed across the state to ensure a smooth and incident‑free presidential engagement.
Gidado said that for security and traffic management reasons, some major routes leading to the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Mosque and other key locations will be temporarily closed or diverted between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the day of the visit.
Residents were urged to plan movements accordingly, obey traffic directions and avoid restricted areas.
“These measures are purely for safety and effective traffic management during the President’s visit,” Gidado said, adding that the government regretted any inconvenience and appreciated the public’s understanding and cooperation.
The statement reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order while honouring the legacy of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, whose teachings and service had an impact across Bauchi State, Nigeria and beyond.
