The Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday presented Certificate of Return to its governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State poll, Bola Oyebamiji, who emerged through a consensus primary election last weekend.

Speaking with journalists after presenting the certificate, APC national chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said the part would work vigorously to win at the main election.

Yilwatda expressed confidence in the chances of Oyebamiji to floor candidates of other political parties at election holding in August next year.

“We are mobilising our capacity as a party, our strength. We are muscling our strength back to Osun state to ensure that we campaign, work vigorously to ensure that we win the election. So that’s what has brought us here,” he said.

Also speaking, Oyebamiji declared that he was not in contest with anyone as governance was a more serious business than “dancing.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, let me first say that I’m honoured today. I’m honoured and I’m glad that I have this certificate of return. I want to assure you that Osun people are ready for APC to take the mantle of that power from the dancing government.

“The business of governance is a serious business. And we have a lot of human assets. We have a lot of material assets in the state of Osun. And we need a serious manager to drive that asset. And that serious manager is Bola Oyebamiji.

“Now that I have that mandate, we are going to carry that mandate and come 2026 and 2027, we are going to deliver Osun. We are going to deliver to the president in that election. So I thank you so much. I thank the national chairman and the NWC for this opportunity. I can assure you that we are going to make me proud. I told you once when I came here last time that I don’t have a competitor. We are going to deliver and deliver Osun come 2026 and 2027,”he added.
