Katsina State governor, Malam Umaru Radda, has congratulated veteran journalist, Babajide Otitoju on his appointment as director of News at Television Continental (TVC), describing the elevation as a fitting recognition of decades of outstanding service to Journalism in the country.
In a statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, Governor Radda said Otitoju’s appointment reflects his long-standing commitment to professionalism, excellence and accountability in the media industry.
He noted that the journalist’s career has been marked by distinguished service across several reputable media organisations in the country.
Governor Radda praised Otitoju’s pedigree, saying his journey through Nigeria’s leading media houses demonstrates consistency, dedication to truth and a strong resolve to hold power accountable in the public interest.
The governor also commended Otitoju’s investigative reporting and his extensive coverage of Nigeria’s security challenges, particularly in the northern part of the country.
He said Otitoju’s work has remained thorough, balanced and constructive, providing Nigerians with critical context and insights into complex security issues.
“As someone deeply concerned about insecurity in northern Nigeria, I have followed Mr Otitoju’s work closely. His reporting on security matters has helped the public better understand the dynamics and challenges involved,” Governor Radda said.
