Okpeholo Lauds Firm For Relocating Major Investment To Edo, Harps On Security Feats

Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo, has lauded the Skyewise Group for boosting the economic drive and confidence of investors by coming to invest in Edo State.

Okpeholo gave the commendation during the pre-launching ceremony of the Skyewise Group Tower in Benin City.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, said he has been able to tackle cultism and other violent crimes in the state, adding that insecurity is a bane to economic progress as no investors would to invest in a place that is not safe.

“The governor has asked me to represent him. And he has asked me to tell you a few things. First, to assure you that your investment in Edo is safe and secured.

“Secondly, His Excellency, the executive governor when we came into office, Edo was faced with a lot of insecurity, but as we speak, it has been reduced to the barest minimum. Issue of cultism is being completely destroyed. Same time last year, you hear them counting scores like chicken.

“But today, all those are things of the past, courtesy of Senator Monday Okpebholo. For business to strive in any society, any state, any community, security must be addressed. And as we speak today by the grace of God, everything about security is the first priority of the executive governor of the state.

“And secondly, I want to assure you that the government of Edo State will also patronise you to ensure that your business meet the highest desire from Edo and not only from the citizens but from the government. And lastly, we are going to be praying for you because we are almost at the same age,” the Deputy Governor stated.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Skyewise multi-billion naira conglomerate, Dr. Elvis Abuyere, said the demolition of the business premises in Lagos State and Abuja compelled them to relocate to Edo State, which provided a more friendly environment for their businesses to strive.

The Edo-born entrepreneur whose chain of businesses ranges from sales of luxury automobile, loan facility, and hospitality, disclosed this in Benin City at the official unveiling of Skyewise Group Tower and Launch.

He said, “For those who have known us for over a decade, we are known for excellence, we are known for impact, and we are known for results but unfortunately, while we are trying to round up the 2025 despite the many issues that we actually have encountered this year.

“For those who have been following us lately, you will realise that we have some challenges in Lagos. One of our premises in Lagos was demolished and also we also have in Abuja that was demolished.

“We had discussion, we realised how true the saying that charity begins at home. So, we thought it wise to begin the journey of Sky wisely because what we believe at the management team and where we have been to that we are just starting and that is true. We believe that Benin and Edo State actually are untapped market for our business.

“For those who know us, you will realise that we are into investments, loan facilities, automobiles, luxury automobiles, and we believe that you know, when we’re putting this together, people are saying, ‘Ah, you are into luxury’

“‘Why you coming to Benin?’ ‘People don’t know how to buy’. I say, No, there’s a saying that goes this way: Only 1% of the Nigerian population drive brand new cars

“We want to increase that number and ensure that we have a lot of percentage of Nigerians drive a brand new car.” And that is one of the reasons we came to Benin. If you look at the showroom downstairs, you will see all the brand new cars from 2024 to 25, even 2026,” Abuyere said.

Dr. Abuyere added that Nigerians don’t need to break the bank before they could own a brand new car as the process has been made seamless for them and that all that they needed was to approach them.
