Christians in Bauchi State have been urged to continue to live in peace with one another and with people of other faiths, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

The Bauchi State first lady, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed, gave the charge while hosting leaders of Christian women groups and some political officeholders at her residence as part of activities marking this year’s Christmas celebration.

Bala Mohammed emphasised that no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of chaos, intolerance, and division, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains critical to the progress and overall development of Bauchi State and the nation at large.

She called on Christians to remain guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly the values of love, tolerance and compassion, noting that these virtues are essential for sustaining harmony within society.

The first lady expressed delight over the visit and assured the delegation of the Bauchi State government’s continued support and cooperation whenever needed.

In separate remarks, Mrs Hasana Arkila and Mrs Comfort Audu commended the first lady for her warmth, generosity and commitment to women and youth empowerment through various initiatives, which they said have significantly improved the well-being of beneficiaries across the state.

They also expressed optimism that the empowerment programmes would be sustained and applauded Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for implementing policies and programmes aimed at enhancing the socio-political development of Bauchi State.
