The apex umbrella body of non-indigenous youths in Abuja has congratulated Mr. Bitrus Lawrence Garki on his appointment as Director of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter of the City Boy Movement.
The group gave the commendation in a statement issued by its President, Ambassador Mukhtar Akoshile.
Akoshile described Garki’s appointment as well deserved and strategic, noting that it aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which emphasises youth inclusion, grassroots mobilisation and progressive leadership as critical drivers of national development.
According to him, the appointment reflects a deliberate effort to entrust capable young leaders with the responsibility of promoting people-centred governance, civic engagement and inclusive political participation within the FCT.
The youth leader also commended Barrister Seyi Tinubu, the Okanlomo of Yorubaland, for what he described as exemplary leadership, visionary guidance and consistent confidence in young Nigerians.
Akoshile said Seyi Tinubu’s leadership style continues to resonate with the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda through bridge-building, talent development and the nurturing of a new generation of patriotic leaders committed to national progress.
He further expressed appreciation to the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, for his unwavering support and belief in youth-driven leadership.
According to Akoshile, Shoga’s commitment has remained instrumental in strengthening organisational structures that promote unity, accountability and inclusive participation in line with the Renewed Hope vision.
He reaffirmed the readiness of non-indigenous youths in Abuja to collaborate with progressive platforms and leaderships to advance the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As stakeholders in youth development and nation-building, we remain committed to ensuring that Abuja’s diverse youth population is actively engaged in shaping a more prosperous, inclusive and hopeful Nigeria,” he said.
