Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has announced a major shake-up in his cabinet, appointing a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and reassigning several key officials.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser (Media), Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor relieved Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo of her duties as SSG with immediate effect.
In her place, Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde has been named as the new Secretary to the State Government.
According to the statement, Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu, who previously served as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
Governor Makinde also elevated his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, to the position of commissioner-designate. He is expected to be presented to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Additionally, Hon. Abiodun Adedoja was appointed as Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu was named Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
The statement read in part, “These changes are part of the governor’s continued commitment to ensuring efficient service delivery and effective governance in Oyo State.”
