Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of the state council chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Tukur Hassan Dan Ali, and two others as Permanent Secretaries in the state’s civil service.

The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Head of the State Civil Service, Mallam Falalu Bawale.

Those appointed alongside the NUJ chairman Dan Ali were Junaidu Muntari from Kankara local government area, and Yahaya Abdullahi from Safana local government area of the State.

Mallam Bawale explained that the appointments were made strictly on merit, noting that the candidates emerged successful after a rigorous, merit-based examination conducted by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) on behalf of the Katsina State Government.

According to him, the process reflected the Governor Radda administration’s commitment to professionalism and competence in the civil service.

He said the ongoing reforms were anchored on meritocracy, performance, and integrity to ensure a responsive and efficient public sector.

The Head of Service urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to align themselves with the administration’s ‘Building Your Future’ agenda, emphasising the strategic importance of their offices to the socio-economic development of the state.

He also charged them to live up to public expectations by discharging their duties with diligence, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility to the growth and stability of the Katsina State Civil Service.

The appointments take immediate effect as the state government intensified efforts to reposition the civil service for effective and efficient service delivery across the State.
