The Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has dismissed 60 students from various departments over their involvement in examination malpractices.

The decision was taken by the university’s Senate during its 43rd statutory meeting held on January 7, 2026, after reviewing findings and recommendations submitted by relevant academic and disciplinary committees.

The development was disclosed in an official announcement posted on the university’s official Facebook page.

According to the statement, investigations revealed that the affected students were implicated in different acts that violated the institution’s examination rules and regulations.

“After reviewing the cases, the Senate approved the expulsion of the students in accordance with the university’s examination regulations,” the statement said.
