VFS Global has introduced a range of technology-driven travel solutions aimed at improving the visa application experience for Nigerian group travellers.

The move comes as Nigeria strengthens its position as Africa’s largest economy and a major travel hub, with growing demand for faster, secure and more convenient visa services, particularly for corporate groups, sports teams, families and leisure travellers.

The firm said the new services are designed to simplify visa applications and reduce stress for group applicants.

Speaking on the development, the company’s Chief Operating Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Siddharth Mehra, said the initiative reflects VFS Global’s commitment to delivering a smooth and reliable visa experience for Nigerian travellers.

“Our mission is to ensure that every traveller’s journey begins smoothly, supported by technology, security and trust. By expanding our smart services in Nigeria, we are offering flexible and accessible visa solutions for both individuals and groups,” Mehra said.

One of the key services introduced is the Visa At Your Doorstep (VAYD), also known as the On-Demand Mobile Visa (ODMV) service for UK visa applications. The service allows applicants to complete the visa submission process, including biometric enrolment, at their homes, offices or preferred locations.

To further improve access, VFS Global has also opened Premium Application Centres in Enugu, Kano, Ibadan and Port Harcourt, reducing the need for applicants to travel to Lagos or Abuja. The centres offer premium services, including document scanning, real-time application updates and the option to keep passports while applications are being processed.

VFS Global said the services are supported by its Live Identity Processing technology, which ensures secure biometric capture and data protection, particularly for large group applications.

The company noted that following successful handling of several group visa applications for Nigerian organisations and sports teams in 2025, it is well positioned to continue supporting Nigeria’s growing travel needs in 2026 and beyond.
