Ahead of the Argungu International Fishing Festival scheduled for February 2026, the director general of the Kebbi State Investment Promotion Agency (KBSIPA), Dr Muhammad Kabir Kamba, has disclosed that foreign investors from Europe, Asia, and other countries have expressed interest in participating in the festival.

According to Dr Kamba, their interest stems from Governor Nasir Idris’ visits to their countries, during which he invited them to the state for verification of its abundant natural resources and for possible partnership with the government and people of Kebbi State.

The DG further said that, based on that, the governor had directed the Agency to liaise with relevant stakeholders and provide a befitting accommodation for them and other local investors.

He noted that the organising committee, led by the deputy governor, Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida, was working tirelessly to ensure that all investors, both foreign and local, have secure accommodation and are provided with other logistics for the events expected to be held between 11 and 14 February 2026.

Accordingly, adequate arrangements have been made to showcase the variety of agricultural products, Livestock, and solid minerals that abound in the state, as well as the cultural heritage of the Kebbi people.
