The Bank of Industry (BoI) has appointed Olayinka Mubarak as the managing director of BoI Investment & Trust Company Limited (BOI-ITC), its wholly-owned subsidiary, signalling a strategic push to strengthen leadership capacity and expand its investment and fiduciary services.
The appointment, BoI said in a statement, reflected its commitment to deepening the role of BOI-ITC in Nigeria’s financial services ecosystem, particularly in trusteeship, custodial services, financial planning and advisory services.
Mubarak brings more than 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, with expertise spanning development finance, treasury management, public sector banking, commercial and retail banking, corporate and private banking, and investment banking. Her career has combined technical financial expertise with leadership roles across multiple segments of the banking industry.
According to BoI, she has participated in numerous local and international training programmes, equipping her with global perspectives and best practices in financial services, leadership, risk management and corporate governance.
Before her appointment, Mubarak served in several senior leadership positions within the Bank of Industry, where she contributed to initiatives that delivered measurable impact across key sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, infrastructure and small and medium-scale enterprises.
Her experience also extends to public sector governance. In 2017, she was appointed by the federal government to the Board of the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF), where she played a role in strengthening oversight and governance in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
As managing director of BOI-ITC, Mubarak will provide strategic direction for the subsidiary, with responsibility for driving growth in its core business lines while strengthening governance frameworks and operational efficiency. Her mandate will also include positioning BOI-ITC to deliver sustainable value for clients and stakeholders in an increasingly competitive financial services environment.
