The Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) has donated the sum of N200 million for the purchase of All Progressives Congress(APC) nomination forms for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The forum made the donation at a high-level youth leadership and stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja yesterday, when it also endorsed Tinubu for a second term of office in 2027.
NNYLF, in a communique issued at the event by its national leader, Murtala Garba-Gamji and the director of operations, Dr John Agbana, said the endorsement was informed by the need for policy continuity, reform consolidation and long-term national development.
The forum called on young Nigerians to embrace constructive participation in nation-building and community leadership while urging development partners and stakeholders to collaborate with credible youth-led platforms to scale impact-driven programmes across northern Nigeria.
“The Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) convened a high-level youth leadership and stakeholders’ engagement on Monday, 26 January 2026, in Maitama, Abuja, bringing together youth leaders, professionals, grassroots mobilizers, and political stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria.
“The engagement was convened to review the direction of national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthen youth participation in governance, and formally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, alongside the launch of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative.
“The forum unanimously resolved to formally endorse President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, in the interest of policy continuity, reform consolidation and long-term national development.
“Commit to coordinated, peaceful, and issue-based youth mobilisation across Northern Nigeria in support of democratic participation, national unity, and responsible civic engagement,” the communique read.
Speaking while presenting a dummy cheque of the N200 million to the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Garba-Gamji said the gesture demonstrated that northerners, especially the youths, are committed to the re-election of the president.
“We have made this to show that the northern youth leaders have decided to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with N200 million under the custody of our BOTs and other leaders. When they decide to sell the form, we will purchase it for Mr President for his second term, because we believe in the unity of Nigeria.
“We believe in the agreement between the late President Buhari and Baba Ahmed Tinubu. Southern Nigeria should finish its eight years, then Northern Nigeria will come in. We are with Bola Ahmed Tinubu; we believe in what he is doing in terms of security, agriculture, and infrastructure. I have been to Sokoto, and we have seen what he is doing from Sokoto to Badagry.
“We have seen what he is doing from Bauchi down to Taraba, Benue, Kaduna Road, and Kano. In terms of all this, that is what inspired us to come out and support this solidarity. The faces you see are not hired or chartered. We are realists, and we believe Tinubu will have the highest vote in northern Nigeria,” he added.
In his remarks, the director general of TSG, Dr Umar Tanko-Yakasai, as the umbrella body, welcomes all support groups that have identified with it and are channelling their resources to support President Tinubu for a second term of office.
He said the South had supported the North for eight good years; hence, it is the North’s turn to support President Tinubu and his region to complete their eight years of administration.
“Most important is the commitment by our northern young persons that the north, when it gives its word, must respect its word. Our word is our bond. If President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had supported a northern candidate, late President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2015, after serving for three good terms, he couldn’t have won; with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support, he won and supported him to complete his four years.
“Northern Nigeria was happy because in 2019, I didn’t see any credible person who challenged President Muhammadu Buhari from the south. I believe that the South has supported the North for eight good years. It is the turn of the north to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the south to complete their eight years of administration before you consider any interest,” Yakasai said.
