A prominent cleric and the  Calabar field superintendent, Apostolic  Church of Nigeria, Pastor  Ekpe Offiong, has advised  the newly appointed professor of Maternal Health, Idang Neji Ojong, not to let her new title get into her head.

The cleric  gave the advice during a thanksgiving ceremony held by the Apostolic Church, Akim Assembly Calabar, to honour i Ojong on her elevation to the rank of professor by the University of Calabar at the weekend.

The cleric emphasised the importance of humility and fairness in Professor Ojong’s new role, asking her not to be arrogant now that she has been elevated.

“Do not let the new appointment enter your head. “Remember where you came from and the people who supported you along the way,” he said.

Pastor Ekpe reminded Professor Ojong that her new role comes with great responsibility stressing that she will be accountable for her actions.

“You will be judged by how you treat those under your care, so strive to be just and fair in all your dealings,” he added.

He urged Professor Ojong to be approachable and fair in her assessments, particularly in dealing with students.

“As a professor, you will be faced with many challenges and pressures, but always remember to treat your students with kindness, respect, and fairness,” the cleric stated.
