A Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin, yesterday, sentenced three to death for armed robbery and kidnapping.
The offences were committed against one Mr Olubunmi Komolafe and his wife, Mrs Adeola Morenikeji, at their farm in Ilorin, the state capital.
Delivering his judgement on the matter, Justice Funsho Lawal said that the convicts, Patrick Afedia Adams, Tijani Usman and Ahmed Muhammad were sentenced on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, rape, armed robbery and kidnapping.
He said that on 15th June, 2025, at Kanjile village, via Kulende area, Ilorin, the convicts robbed the complainants, kidnapped the wife into a secluded place and demanded N5m ransom.
The judge narrated how the convicts tied up the complainants, and how one of them, Tijani Usman, raped the wife, Mrs Adeola Morenikeji, mercilessly.
