The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Kinetium Oil and Gas LTD, has successfully concluded a two-week vocational training and empowerment programme in plumbing and pipefitting for 30 youths in Lagos State.
The programme, which ran from January 12 to January 23, 2026, was designed to equip participants with practical skills and industry knowledge essential for thriving in the oil and gas sector.
During the training, participants were exposed to key areas such as plumbing system components, pipe installation and repair, pipefitting techniques, and plumbing code compliance.
They also gained hands-on experience in plumbing system installation and maintenance, preparing them for careers as plumbers, pipefitters, or plumbing contractors.
The initiative reflects NCDMB’s ongoing commitment to building the capacity of Nigerian youths in the oil and gas industry. The board has been actively working to bridge the skills gap in the sector, ensuring that young Nigerians are well-prepared to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
The successful completion of the programme demonstrated the dedication of both NCDMB and Kinetium Oil and Gas LTD to human capital development in the oil and gas sector.
The initiative is expected to positively impact the industry by enhancing the skills, competencies, and employability of Nigerian youths.
