Olori Omo Oba Of Lagos, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, Dies At 93

The Ojora family of Lagos has announced the passing of their patriarch and prominent Lagos traditional title holder, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, the Olori Omo Oba of Lagos. He died early Monday morning at the age of 93.

In an official statement issued by Mrs. Toyin Ojora-Saraki on behalf of the family, the Ojoras expressed deep submission to the will of Almighty Allah, saying: “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT), the Ojora family of Lagos hereby announces the passing of our beloved patriarch, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, the Olori Omo Oba of Lagos, who returned to his creator early this morning.”

The family expressed gratitude to God for the long and impactful life he lived, adding, “We say Alhamdulilahi for a life well lived, and we comply with Allah’s words that: ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him we will all return’ (Q2:156).”

According to the statement, the late business magnate and community leader will be buried in Lagos according to Islamic rites.

Otunba Ojora is survived by his wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family also appealed to the public to keep the deceased in their prayers, saying, “We urge all members of the public to join us in praying to Allah to grant His servant, who has lived a dignified life, reprieve in the grave and a place in Aljannah Firdaus.”

Otunba Adekunle Ojora was a respected figure in Nigerian business and traditional circles, widely regarded for his contributions to commerce, philanthropy, Lagos society and Nigeria at large.
