A mild drama ensued at a project site in Akwa Ibom State when the State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, openly expressed displeasure over the handling of a hospital construction project when he queried the contractor for beginning work with the mortuary section instead of the main hospital building.
A viral video of the encounter, which surfaced online on Wednesday, has sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms.
The footage shows Governor Eno addressing the contractor during an inspection visit to the project site.
In the viral clip, the visibly displeased governor questioned the contractor’s decision to focus on the mortuary before other critical hospital facilities.
“Why did you start with the mortuary first?” Governor Eno asked in a raised tone.
“I said build a hospital, and you started with a mortuary. Don’t say that again.” However, people present at the site burst into laughter.
The video has since generated mixed reactions among netizens, with many praising the governor for his directness, while others described the incident as a reflection of poor project supervision and communication between contractors and government officials.
