The ancient town of Isuokoma came alive on January 2, 2026, as it hosted the first-ever Ofala Festival of His Royal Highness Okaji John Chinazom Uzoigwe, Ntumoke Ugota II of Anioma-Isu Kingdom.
The spectacular cultural event, held under the distinguished chairmanship of Hon. Chief Dr. Donatus Odii Njoku, was a dazzling celebration of tradition, unity, and community pride.
The festival drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries and elites from Ebonyi State and beyond, including political leaders, business moguls, captains of industry, and arts, entertainment, and sports personalities. The grand occasion highlighted the peace, progress, and vibrancy of the Anioma-Isu Kingdom and the broader Isuokoma clan.
Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the Hon. Minister of Works, Engr. Sen. David Nweze Umahi, were represented at the festival. Traditional rulers, including HRM Eze Charles Mkpuma, CON, CEHF, Eze Burugbala III of Ezzama Kingdom and Chairman of the Ebonyi State Traditional Rulers’ Council, also graced the occasion.
A major highlight of the festival was the conferment of chieftaincy titles on prominent individuals who have made significant contributions to community and state development. Notable honorees included Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe, Chief Ikechukwu Ogbofia, Chief Engr. Felix Ogbonna Igboke, Chief Festus Ifesinachi Odii, Chief Prince Chima Ude-Umanta, among others from politics, business, and public service.
The event attracted a massive crowd, including traditional and cultural groups, local and international dignitaries, and members of the Anioma-Isu diaspora. The turnout affirmed the unwavering support, loyalty, and recognition of HRH Okaji John Chinazom Uzeigwe as the Ntumoke Ugota II of Anioma-Isu.
From vibrant displays of cultural heritage to the conferment of esteemed titles, the Ofala Festival showcased the richness of Isuokoma’s traditions, while emphasizing unity, progress, and a shared vision for the kingdom’s future.
