The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appealed to it members to close ranks and work for the overall interest of the party and Nigerians in general, notwithstanding the Ibadan High Court judgment over its national convention.
The Cross River State chapter of the party made the appeal in a statement by its publicity Secretary, Mr Mike Ojisi yesterday.
Ojisi, who described the Ibadan High Court judgment as a “landmark judgment” urged members to respect the ruling.
”The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan had in its judgment nullified the PDP National Convention held in Ibadan on Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, 2025. The court also recognised the Mohammed Abdulrahman-led Caretaker Committee as the authentic National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. This judgment is a significant victory for the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria,” he said.
According to him, the directive underscores the importance of adhering to court orders and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We commend the court’s decision and urge all members of the PDP in Cross River State to respect the judgment.
“We call on all PDP members in Cross River State to unite behind the Abdulrahman-led Caretaker Committee, the party State Chairman, Venatius Ikem, and work towards rebuilding and repositioning the party for future successes. Together, we can build a stronger, more united, and more prosperous PDP in Cross River State,” he stated.
