The seven construction workers recently kidnapped in Owa Onire community in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State have regained their freedom.

The freed abductees included two engineers on the employ of the State’s Ministry of Works.

The commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, confirmed the release of the construction workers in a statement on Monday.

Olododo commended the efforts of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the security forces at strengthening public safety and rid the state of bandits and terrorists.

“We are grateful to His Excellency and to the security agencies. We also appreciate everyone who stood by us in this trying times,” he said.
