As part of activities marking the 2026 World Women’s Day, the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has announced plans to organise the Oluremi Tinubu Dress Challenge, an empowerment initiative targeted at young female students across Lagos State.

In a statement issued by the International Spokesman of IAWPA, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, the organisation described the challenge as a celebration of women’s rights, equality, and empowerment in line with this year’s global theme: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”

Nkweke said the initiative aimed to inspire and encourage young women to emulate the virtues of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whom he described as a “champion of women’s rights and sustainable development.”

“Her Excellency Sen. Remi Tinubu embodies the values of justice, equality, and empowerment through her tireless advocacy and leadership,” the statement noted.

“As noted by President Donald Trump, Sen. Remi Tinubu is a very respected woman who serves as a role model for women and girls everywhere. Her commitment to peace, sustainable development, and women’s empowerment is truly inspiring.”

The Oluremi Tinubu Dress Challenge, according to IAWPA, is designed to sustain the First Lady’s political and social legacies by motivating young female students to become agents of positive change and future leaders in their communities.

Nkweke emphasised that the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and complements President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of education, gender inclusion, and youth empowerment.

In a related development, the Lagos State Director of IAWPA, Amb. Awolowo Owolabi, disclosed that preparations were underway to host international delegates for the event, adding that this year’s celebration will further highlight IAWPA’s reputation as a gender-friendly and inclusive organisation.

“We are ready to receive guests from across the world as we celebrate women and promote the ideals of peace and equality,” Owolabi stated.

The 2026 World Women’s Day will be commemorated globally with a renewed call for action toward justice and opportunities for all women and girls.
