All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State is set to formally receive defectors from opposition political parties as the state prepares to host a mega solidarity rally in appreciation of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, SAN, who disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday in Lafia, said the rally would be led by high-profile party leaders, including the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other prominent figures.

He noted that 15, 000 participants are expected to take part in the event slated for February 12.

Magaji, who also serves as the state coordinator of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, explained that the proposed rally is in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda and the good governance initiatives of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

The SSG said the event will also serve as a platform to welcome national and state assembly members, as well as other well-meaning individuals who recently defected to the APC.

“Politics is about engagement and perception. Our people are really desirous of coming out to say thank you to the Governor and Mr President, but there has been no platform for that. This rally is meant to wake our people up and bring them together to express that appreciation,” he said.

He further emphasized that the event would reinforce Nasarawa State’s support for the current administrations, noting that it would also send a clear message to opposition parties that the state remains firmly under APC control.

“The rally is also meant to show opposition political parties that Nasarawa State remains a no-go area,” Magaji stated.
