Cameroonian Footballer Ngamaleu Appointed IOM Celebrity Supporter For Safe Migration

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced the appointment of Cameroonian professional footballer Nicolas Brice Moumi Ngamaleu as its latest celebrity supporter. This role aims to bolster outreach efforts, promoting safe migration routes and empowering young people across Cameroon and the wider African continent.

IOM confirmed that Mr Moumi Ngamaleu will back national and regional initiatives focused on protecting migrants and raising awareness for safe migration.

According to the organisation, the Cameroonian considerable influence and dedication to social impact are expected to significantly enhance advocacy among broader audiences, particularly young, aspiring athletes and students.

Ngamaleu, 30, has represented Cameroon’s national team in numerous Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and has enjoyed a professional career playing in Cameroon, Austria, Switzerland, and Russia. The winger was part of the Cameroon squad that secured third place at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil and has earned over 40 caps for the Indomitable Lions.
